The point-to-point resistance testing method for anti-static clothing with grounding points

GB 12014-2019 "Protective Clothing - Antistatic Garments" specifies the test method for the point-to-point resistance of antistatic garments with grounding points.

Test Procedure: Lay the test sample flat on an insulating table as much as possible, connect the circuit in the manner shown in Figure A.1, place the insulating pad inside the cuff, and position the cylindrical test electrode on the cuff of the sample. For trousers samples, place the cylindrical electrode at the corresponding position on the trouser leg. Connect the other terminal of the high resistance meter to the grounding point of the garment in a suitable form to ensure good contact between them. Apply a DC voltage of 10 V between the two test electrodes, read the value after the indication is stable, with a minimum test duration of 15 s. If the resistance is greater than 10⁵ Ω, increase the voltage to (100±5) V for the test. Repeat the above test procedure to measure the resistance between all tested points specified in Figure 2 of FZ/T 80012—2012 and the grounding point. If the garment is designed with the cuff or other parts as the grounding point, measure the resistance between other test points of the garment and the cuff.
Test Result Processing: Record the resistance values between all test points and the grounding point, retaining two significant figures.

Main Application

This instrument can be used to measure the point-to-point resistance of various fabrics, carpets, films and other insulating materials, thus reflecting the electrostatic charging performance of the test materials.


Instrument Features

The test device of this instrument mainly consists of two parts: a plate electrode assembly and a high resistance meter. The basic principle is to apply DC voltages of different ranges to the sample. The weak current flowing through the sample is sampled and amplified by a standard resistor, and then read from the high resistance meter. The resistance value is directly displayed digitally with high accuracy, fast response, good stability and easy reading. It can conduct point-to-point resistance tests for fabric and antistatic garments.
