Testing equipment
The examples of the test instruments are shown in Figures 1 to 3. The specific details are as follows. After appropriate verification, other instruments can also be used.
—Rotating drum (Figure 1, structure 5), with an outer diameter of (150 ±) mm, a width of (60 ± 1) mm, and a rotational speed of (400 ± 1) r/min, an aluminum rotating drum equipped with a sample installation and clamping device.
The sample installation base (as shown in Figure 1 structure 3 and Figure 2) is equipped with a metal frame embedded with insulating plastics such as polytetrafluoroethylene. The surface of the insulating plastic is flush with the upper edge of the metal frame, and both have the same curvature radius.
Note: The drum shown in Figure 1 has four sample mounting bases. These are used to maintain balance during the drum's rotation. During the test, only one of them is used to install the sample.
—The sample cover (Figure 3) is made of stainless steel with a thickness of (1 ± 0.1) mm.
—The friction position (as shown in Figure 1), a friction cloth (structure 1) with a width of (25 ± 1) mm and a length of (150 ± 1) mm, is clamped at both ends by left and right friction cloth clamps (structure 2) with a spacing of (130 ± 3) mm. It is maintained with a certain tension by a load of (4.9 ± 0.1) N (structure 6). The vertical distance between the horizontal tangents of the friction cloth surface and the bottom surface of the sample is measured at the cloth clamps. The left side should be (1.0 ± 0.1) mm, and the right side should be (3.0 ± 0.1) mm.
—The measurement electrode (Figure 1 Structure 4), a plate-type sensor with a diameter of (20 ± 1) mm, has a measurement range of 0 kV to 10 kV, a measurement accuracy of ±5%, and a response time of less than 7 ms. Other types of electrostatic voltage testers or non-contact voltage meters with appropriate sizes can also be used.

The metal and other conductive parts of the testing equipment should be grounded, with the grounding resistance being less than 10Ω.
