Contact wound dressing water-resistance test method

Test conditions
The test samples should be conditioned at a temperature of (21 ± 2)℃ and a relative humidity (RH) of (60 ± 15)% for at least 16 hours. The test should be conducted under the same conditions. Instrument
1 Water-blocking measurement instrument: There is a pool that can apply a static water pressure of 500mm for 300 seconds on the non-adhesive surface of the test sample. The sample is fixed at a horizontal position with two rings, and the lower ring is part of the pool. The threaded device is used to clamp to prevent leakage and sample movement during the test. The static water pressure is generated by a vertical pipe connected to the bottom of the pool with an inner diameter of no less than 3mm.
To prevent leakage, the circular surface in contact with the sample should be covered with appropriate covering materials, such as rubber.
2 Distilled water, deionized water.
3 Steps
3.1 The prepared sample should be free of wrinkles.
3.2 Fill the pool with (21 ± 2)℃ purified water.
3.3 Place the sample on the lower ring in a horizontal sliding manner, avoiding air between the water surface and the lower surface of the sample.
3.4 Cover the upper surface of the sample with a dry filter paper larger than the test area, place the upper ring on it, and clamp it with the threaded device.
3.5 Inject water into the tube to reach the required water level above the sample surface.
3.6 Maintain this static water pressure (300 ± 10) seconds.
3.7 Check if there is water seeping through the sample on the filter paper and record the results.
