Major uses
Suitable for inspection and evaluation of homogeneous solid materials, laminated materials, foam materials, film and film materials widely used in various fields, such as plastics, textiles, electronic equipment, etc. , to ensure the safety and reliability of products. The flammability of materials under specified test conditions, but the results can not be used to assess the fire hazard of materials under actual service conditions.
Test method for minimum oxygen concentration required to maintain the combustion of small, upright specimens in a mixed flow of oxygen and nitrogen in the temperature range 25 °C-150 °C (typically 40 °C-150 °C) under specified test conditions. The result is defined as the temperature exponent at the test temperature, which is the typical temperature that the plastic material may be at under actual superheating conditions. The method also covers the testing of flexible sheets or films and defines the flammability temperature (FT) , i.e. , the temperature at which the oxygen index is 20.9% , suitable for determinations below 400°C.
