LFY-604 Vertical Flame Spread Test Instrument for Fabrics

Main purpose 
The determination of the vertical flame spread performance of textiles for single-component or multi-component (coatings, quilting, multi-layer, laminated products and similar combinations) clothing, curtains, drapes, and large tents including awnings and door covers. It is used to evaluate the performance of materials or material combinations when exposed to fire under laboratory controlled conditions. 
Instrument characteristics 
1. The use of a low-voltage electric heating wire ignition device ensures safe and reliable ignition. 
2. The ignition gas control system employs a dedicated electromagnetic valve for flammable gases, featuring anti-corrosion and explosion-proof properties. 
3. The control box is equipped with a gas leakage alarm device that automatically cuts off the gas supply when a leak is detected. 
4. The burner can be set to either "surface ignition" or "edge ignition" through the switch, and will automatically adjust its position. 
5. The ignition time of the burner can be set arbitrarily within the range of 0.01 to 99.99 seconds. 
6. Automatically record the time from the ignition until the first, second and third marking lines are burned out (i.e., the flame spread time), as well as the reignition time and smoldering time. 
7. There are status indicator lights for the first, second and third marking lines. The marking line status is detected by non-contact sensors, which are reliable and have a fast response. 
8. A lighting lamp is installed inside the combustion box to facilitate observation during the test. 
9. The height of the flame can be adjusted through the control panel's knob. 
10. The combustion box is equipped with a double-door design on the front and sides, which facilitates observing the combustion status from different angles during the test. 
Technical indicators

1. The burner is ignited in two ways: at an angle of 30 degrees and horizontally (i.e., "edge ignition" or "surface ignition"). 
2. Power of the moving motor for the burner: 20W. 
3. Gas igniter: The igniter complies with the requirements of Appendix A of ISO 6941:2003 and Appendix A of GB/T 5456-2009. The igniter can be moved from the ready position to the horizontal position or the inclined position. When in the ready position, the top of the igniter is at least 75mm away from the sample. 
4. Ignition timer: Can be set to any value between 0.01 and 99.99 seconds (the national standard adopts 5 seconds or 15 seconds). 
5. Timer for flame spread time, re-ignition time and smoldering time: 0.01 - 99.99 seconds or 1 second - 99 minutes 99 seconds. The range can be set according to the duration of the time. 
6. Flame height measurement device: The scale is 40mm in height. 
7. Support Frame: It should enable the ignition device and the sample frame to maintain the specified relative position; the instrument can be equipped with three marking lines at the designated positions. At each marking line position, a ring is installed to ensure that the two sides of the ring are 1mm and 5mm away from the front surface of the sample. A timing device is installed at each ring location. 
8. Sample holder: 560mm × 150mm. It consists of a rectangular metal frame. Along the 560mm-long and 150mm-wide rectangular frame, 12 sample fixing pins are installed on the long side. The distances from the bottom edge of the frame for the sample fixing pins are 5mm, 10mm, 190mm, 370mm, 550mm and 555mm respectively. The length of each fixing pin is at least 26mm. Around each fixing pin, a positioning cylinder with a diameter of 2mm and a length of at least 20mm should be installed. 
9. Template: The template is drilled with 12 small holes, each with a diameter of approximately 4mm. The positions of these holes should ensure that the distance between the center of each hole and the fixed pins on the frame is consistent. 
10. Marking lines: White textured cotton lines, with a thread density ranging from 45 tex to 50 tex. 
11. Sample size: 560mm × 170mm. 
12. Gas for ignition: Industrial propane or butane gas. 
13. Working power supply: AC 220V, 50Hz, 150W. 
14. Dimensions of the combustion test chamber: 1240mm × 610mm × 780mm. 
15. Weight: Approximately 80 kilograms.
